Tracy Beaker star Dani Harmer to headline £1 nightclub party for freshers

The TV icon will perform, play games and meet fans at Popworld Leeds in a nostalgia-fuelled night.

Beloved children’s TV star Tracy Beaker is swapping the Dumping Ground for the dancefloor – headlining a £1-a-drink student night in Leeds.

Dani Harmer, 36, who shot to fame playing Jacqueline Wilson’s mischievous character in the early 2000s, will appear at Popworld on 29 September for a freshers’ week blowout.

Tickets for the five-hour party range from just £1 to £3, with the chance for fans to sing along with Harmer, take part in on-stage games and even bag a selfie with the star.

The event, dubbed “Quids,” runs until 3am and promises £1 drinks all night, making it one of the cheapest and quirkiest freshers events around.

Many of the students heading to the nightclub weren’t even born when The Story of Tracy Beaker first aired in 2002, but organisers say the night will be “pure nostalgia and non-stop fun.”

A spokesperson for Fatsoma, which is selling the tickets, said: “Yes, the Tracy Beaker takes over Popworld for one unforgettable night.

Expect a live performance, hilarious on-stage games, a chance to meet Dani herself and all your favourite Popworld anthems to keep the party going all night long.”

Harmer has played Tracy Beaker across multiple spin-offs for more than 20 years, most recently reprising the role in The Dumping Ground this year.
