At first glance it looked simple, but when she checked the label and spotted Gucci embossed on a thin silver strap, she realised she might be onto something special.
“Honestly, I was like ‘This probably isn’t real’ – but I threw it in my cart anyway to investigate,” Vanessa told Hype Daily.

“I could not believe it was a Gucci Tom Ford 1998 dress. I was shaking.”
The minimalist piece, with its thin leather spaghetti straps and sleek silhouette, turned out to be a rare collaboration now resold online for around $4,000 (£2,976).
Vanessa documented her discovery on TikTok, where the clip has racked up over 95,000 views.
Excited fans flooded the comments, with one writing: “You just won the fashion lottery, queen.”
Another added: “With leather straps??? INCREDIBLE.”

For now, Vanessa says she plans to wear the dress herself before eventually passing it on – but her $29 thrift find has already cemented her place in secondhand shopping legend.
