A proud mum who’s spent nearly a decade working at Wetherspoons has inspired four of her children to join the pub chain too – turning it into something of a family affair.

Kerrie Driscoll, from New Addington in south London, first began her journey with Wetherspoons nine years ago when she took on a role as a bar associate at The Richmal Crompton in Bromley.

Over the years, she worked her way up to become a shift leader and currently works at The Sir Julian Huxley in Selsdon, south London.

Her dedication and clear love for the job ended up sparking interest in her children, who, one by one, followed in her footsteps.

Her eldest daughter, Lizzie Boast, didn’t just join the company – she now runs the show as pub manager at The Sun in Redhill, Surrey, where her husband, Billy Boast, also works, managing the kitchen.

Another of Kerrie’s children, 22-year-old Cameron De Silva, began working for the company at just 16. He started out as a floor associate and later moved into the kitchen.

Today, he holds the position of kitchen manager at The Sir Julian Huxley, working alongside his mum.

Charlotte Juchau, 25, also jumped on board more recently. She joined her mother at The Sir Julian Huxley in August 2024 and currently works as a bar associate.

And Kerrie’s youngest, 20-year-old Louie De Silva, still works at the very same pub where his mum first started. He began as a teenager at The Richmal Crompton and has since progressed to become a kitchen shift leader there.

Between them, the family now works across several Wetherspoons locations throughout London and Surrey, keeping the drinks flowing and the kitchens running smoothly.

The only sibling not to join the hospitality crew is 27-year-old Christopher Juchau, who instead took a different career path and now works as a roofer.

Reflecting on how her kids ended up joining her in the business, Kerrie explained that it all happened quite naturally. “Since I started, everyone else came and joined the company, except one,” she said.

“I was really enjoying my work, so I guess they could see that, and the next thing I knew, one by one, they were all applying for a job.”

She added that working for Wetherspoons has been a genuinely rewarding experience, praising the company for its supportive environment and generous benefits. “Wetherspoon is a good company to work for, and no two days are the same,” she said.

“The company also offers great benefits and you feel appreciated in your work. I would never have encouraged any of my kids to join Wetherspoon if it weren’t a good company and if I didn’t enjoy my work.”

Kerrie says she couldn’t be prouder of her children for joining her in the industry she loves – and now they’re all making their own way in the busy world of pubs, turning their shared experience into a true family legacy.
