The historic racing car, famed for over 100 races and multiple titles, will go under the hammer at Goodwood Revival this September.
A rare 1966 AC/Shelby Cobra with a rich racing pedigree is heading to auction, where it could fetch as much as £2 million.
Known by its nickname ‘13 COB’, the car became a formidable force on the track throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s under driver Martin Colvill.

Across more than 100 races, it secured 12 outright wins, 44 class victories, and championship titles in the Historic Sports Car Club Classic Sportscar Class A Championship in 1978, 1980 and 1981.

Colvill also set class lap records at some of Britain’s most iconic circuits, including Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Donington Park, Oulton Park and Mallory Park.
What makes the Cobra even more remarkable is its authenticity.
The car still carries its original chassis and bodywork, which has remained largely intact throughout its competitive career, sustaining only minor repairs.

The 13 COB is also steeped in history as one of just five right-hand drive AC Cobra chassis built before November 1963, and one of only two entered to race at Le Mans that same year.
The car’s 1963/65 Hardtop Coupe Roadster design was based on the very first Carroll Shelby Cobra ever to compete at Le Mans, 62 years ago.

Goodwood – Bonhams Cars will present the 13 COB at The Goodwood Revival Sale on Saturday, 13 September, offering collectors the rare chance to acquire a genuine piece of motorsport history.
