Jaguar That Carried Kate Middleton to Pippa’s Wedding Up for Auction at £35,000

The 1960 Mk IX Saloon with just 31,000 miles was part of the royal wedding convoy in 2017.

A classic Jaguar once used by Kate Middleton to travel to her sister Pippa’s wedding is set to be auctioned for up to £35,000.

The Mk IX Saloon chauffeured the Princess of Wales – then Duchess of Cambridge – along with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to St Mark’s Church, Englefield, in 2017.

The elegant Warwick Grey motor, featuring red leather upholstery and walnut trim, has clocked only 31,000 miles since it was built in 1960 – averaging just 476 miles a year.

It will go under the hammer with H&H Auctioneers on 10 September at Kelham Hall, Nottinghamshire, with an estimated value of £30,000–£35,000, according to Hype Daily.

The 65-year-old car has had around £6,000 of recent mechanical work to ensure reliability, including attention to the engine, fuel system and brakes.

Oliver Fernyhough-Martin of H&H Classics said: “The Mk IX carries a wonderful sense of presence – big, elegant, and unmistakably of its era.

Its royal wedding connection only adds to the story, but it’s also the condition, originality and low mileage that make this such a compelling example.”

Launched in 1959 as Jaguar’s rival to Bentley and Rolls-Royce, the Mk IX remains a stately classic – and with its royal history, this example could be a prized addition to any collection.
