A business expert who once ranked at the bottom of his school class is now helping ordinary people become millionaires through a programme inspired by the idea of Dragons Den.
Samsher Singh always had a strong desire to make money, but his grades and behaviour in school held him back until one lesson completely changed his path.
Today he runs Hukm Launch Pad, a mentoring company that supports founders with guidance, technology and direct access to investors.

He explained that he often meets people who have great ideas yet lack confidence. Many later see someone else succeed with a similar concept and feel disappointed. His goal is to help those people break that cycle.
Samsher believes that turning an idea into a profitable business is far more achievable with the right support. His message is simple. Trust yourself and let the team handle the difficult parts.
Hukm is named after the Punjabi word for destiny and is also the name of his son. The company was created to connect founders with investors through a twelve week programme designed by Samsher himself.
The programme costs fifteen thousand pounds, but Samsher says clients quickly earn that back through expert advice and investor connections.
More than two hundred and eighty businesses have been supported by the programme. Several are now worth millions. The process follows five steps. First, the team builds a commercial ready model of the idea so it can be tested and presented to investors.
They then create everything needed to begin trading, including a website and a professional pitch deck. Clients are also taught what separates successful start ups from the many that fail. The programme includes meetings with business owners who once started from scratch and now run companies valued in the billions.

Samsher also focuses heavily on wellbeing and mindset. One workshop called Conscious Decision Making teaches founders how to understand the difference between intellect, intuition and intelligence, with guidance from Dav Panesar who is a leading UK expert in this field.
The company also invests directly in some of the businesses it supports and hosts pitching days that resemble Dragons Den.
Samsher originally imagined a future as a car salesman, but everything changed in sixth form when he studied Applied Business. He and a group of friends created a small company selling printed hoodies to school clubs and year groups.
The project was a major success. He later studied Enterprise and Entrepreneurial Management at Lord Ashcroft International Business School in Cambridge.
Before he even started his degree he launched his own business called Bucks Munch, which helped local restaurants promote deals online. Within four months he had one hundred and seventy five clients and earned three thousand pounds per month.

After graduating, he entered a sales job and quickly achieved record breaking commissions. He then launched a business that generated leads for companies buying telematics.
That business was eventually sold for more than seven figures.
He later worked with his friend Gautam Passi to build a mobile application that connected opticians and pharmacies with locums. After years of development, a pharmaceutical recruitment company purchased it.

With those successes behind him, Samsher created Hukm Launch Pad to support founders who needed help with technology and early stage development. The company grew rapidly, expanding from a team of four in 2023 to fifty two employees spread across London, Dubai and Delhi.
Samsher, who lives in London, believes the most important advice for any founder is to avoid fear of the future. He explains that fear usually comes from lacking confidence in what you offer.
Many of his clients start the programme nervous and unsure, but by the sixth week they speak with strength and clarity. By the final investor pitch they are fully prepared.
He says nothing replaces hard work. However, balance is vital. Health and effort must work together. Stay grounded during the journey, he adds, because the journey is the most meaningful and transformative part of building a business.
