A unique “hidden gem” pub in London, which used to be a public toilet, has become one of the capital’s best-kept secrets for catching the Euros in comfort.
The High Cross Pub in Tottenham is drawing football fans eager to enjoy a pint or two in a relaxed and quirky setting.
With the European Championships underway, it’s the perfect “little escape” from the city crowds to watch matches like England v Denmark on Thursday, June 20.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing who turns up for our second Euros game,” said Alex, the pub’s owner, in an interview with Hype Daily.
“We had a good crowd for Sunday’s match, but I’m not expecting huge numbers. It’s a small place with just two TVs, but I’ll have my dad over and some of the locals will pop in.”
If you prefer a calmer spot away from rowdy fans and flying pints,The High Cross offers a cozy, laid-back alternative. “There’s a massive pub down the road with a beer garden that’ll probably get most of the crowd,” Alex added. “But for anyone who wants a quieter place to watch, this is ideal.”

The building itself has a fascinating past. Once a public toilet left abandoned for 30 years, it was transformed into a pub in 2017 after Alex received approval through a local regeneration project.
“It’s like a Tardis,” he said with a laugh.“People walk in and can’t believe how nice it is inside. Some even remember using it as a toilet when they were kids!”
Since opening, The High Cross has become a surprise favorite among locals and tourists alike. Inside, you’ll find 10 beers on tap, with pints starting at £5.50, plus a menu featuring cheeseburgers and pies to enjoy while cheering on England.
With England’s next match kicking off at 5 p.m., this little Tottenham treasure might just be the perfect place to watch the team bring it home.
