From Flipping Phones to Multi-Million Law Firm – How Farshad Proved His Doubters Wrong

Once told he’d “never make it,” the DJ-turned-entrepreneur built one of the world’s first fully virtual law firms after a childhood of hustling and self-reliance.

Farshad’s story begins in school corridors, where his classmates saw textbooks but he saw opportunity.

While others revised, he was striking deals on eBay, flipping second-hand phones, and negotiating with shop owners for cheap parts.

By selling Motorola Razrs and LG flip phones for nearly triple the price, he had carved out a thriving side hustle before he could even vote.

Raised largely on his own after his parents split, Farshad said the lack of support only sharpened his drive.

“A teacher once said that I’m never gonna get anywhere,” he recalled.

“But I’ve always been driven to make money because I wanted to invest in my education and be self-reliant.”

That resilience carried him through years of juggling DJ gigs until 4am, driving to school at dawn, and eventually funding his own studies.

He graduated from UCLA in 2010, followed by Pepperdine Law School in 2014.

But instead of immediately pursuing law, he leaned into nightlife and sports connections, managing endorsements for athletes while making money as a DJ under the name “Esquire.”

Everything shifted during the pandemic. With entertainment on hold, Farshad sat the bar exam — and passed.

Encouraged by his cousin, a personal injury lawyer, and motivated by his own negative experience as a client after a serious car crash, he founded E5quire Law.

In just the past year, his fully virtual firm secured over $5 million in settlements, all without spending a single dollar on marketing.

He credits his unconventional path — building a brand first, then a business — for its rapid growth.

Critics once scoffed at the idea of being both DJ and lawyer, but Farshad says it’s only strengthened his brand.

Today, he continues to manage athletes and influencers, alongside running his multi-million-dollar law firm from California, where he lives with his wife and three dogs.

Reflecting on his journey, he said: “People told me I couldn’t be a DJ and a lawyer. But I’ve proved them wrong. I look at my incredible, beautiful wife and think, ‘Yeah, I made it.’”
