Ultra rare Gordon Murray S1 LM supercar set to sell for over £15m offering a 200mph V12 performance and ranking among the top 20 priciest cars ever sold at auction.

An ultra rare supercar, one of just five ever built, is expected to fetch more than £15m

An exceptionally rare supercar, one of just five examples ever produced, is expected to sell for more than £15m at an upcoming auction, placing it firmly among the 20 most expensive cars ever sold.

The Gordon Murray S1 LM is capable of reaching 200mph. Its 4.3 litre V12 engine delivers more than 700 horsepower, a creation inspired by Gordon Murray himself, the visionary behind the legendary McLaren F1.

Determined to surpass his earlier masterpiece, he set out to refine and elevate the concept even further.

The car will go under the hammer with RM Sothebys on 21 November in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to Hype Daily, it carries an estimated value of more than 20 million dollars, roughly £15m.

Its listing describes the opportunity as a chance for the winning bidder to experience what it would have been like working alongside Professor Gordon Murray in the 1990s, building and testing a personalised version of a modern icon.

The buyer will even collaborate directly with Dario Franchitti, a three time Indianapolis 500 winner and the chief development driver for the project.

Designed under the guidance of Professor Murray, the S1 LM stands as a modern tribute from the creator of the McLaren F1 LM.

It is powered by a specially developed 4.3 litre GMA Cosworth V12 that produces more than 700 horsepower at an astonishing 12 thousand one hundred rpm.

With a target weight of just 957 kilograms and a six speed manual gearbox, the S1 LM embodies the ultimate pure driving experience.

Created to honour the 30th anniversary of the McLaren F1 GTRs famous 1995 Le Mans victory, the S1 LM is the first and most significant model from Gordon Murrays Special Vehicles Division.

Just like the five original customer F1 LMs built to celebrate the Le Mans win, only five S1 LMs will be made, destined to become prized pieces of automotive history.

A sale above £15m would place it among a very small group of cars that have reached such prices, including a 1995 McLaren F1 and a 1956 Ferrari 290MM.

However, it remains far below the record holder, a 1955 Mercedes Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe, which sold for an astonishing £107m in 2022.
