Luxury 4×4 once specced for Queen Elizabeth II could be yours – but there’s a catch.
A Range Rover with the same spec once used by Queen Elizabeth II is hitting the auction block for as little as £1,000 – though buyers will need to sort out a fresh MoT.
The 25-year-old green Range Rover 4.0 HSE Petrol Automatic, finished in classic Epsom green with Lightstone leather interiors, is described by auctioneers Ewbank’s as being “the same specification as used by the Royal Family”.

Packing a 4-litre, 182bhp engine and capable of 116mph, the 4×4 comes with all the luxury touches of its era – leather seats, 18-inch alloys, cruise control, and an alarm and immobiliser system.

But there’s a snag: the car’s MoT expired back in August.
Despite the royal-ready credentials, the SUV has only attracted five bids so far, with the current price sitting at just £420. Ewbank’s had estimated between £500 and £1,000, with the sale closing today (3 Oct) in Woking, Surrey.
A spokesperson for Ewbank’s added: “The Range Rover spec includes 18-inch hurricane alloy wheels, an electric sunroof, and dual climate control. The air-bag suspension has been removed and fitted with the desirable coil spring conversion kit.”
Originally built when Queen Elizabeth II was on the throne, Range Rovers of this type were famously used by the Royals on private estates and official outings.
So, while it may need some TLC before hitting the road again, this slice of royal motoring heritage could prove a serious bargain for one lucky bidder.
