Which Countries Will Pay You to Move There? Finance Guru Reveals Tempting Relocation Schemes

Ireland, New Zealand, and Sardinia are offering cash, property grants, and visas to attract new residents – but financial expert Sarah Adekola warns to read the fine print.

Her latest video, which has racked up more than 136,000 views, highlights the tempting schemes – but also the caveats.

The 29-year-old Londoner said: “It presents a fantastic chance to relocate and receive financial support for entrepreneurial endeavours.”

But she was quick to warn that applicants need to carefully study the conditions before making the move.

Ireland’s Island Grants

Ireland is one of the standout options, offering up to £71,300 (€84,000) through two different schemes.

The programme is part of a 10-year strategy to revive island communities, with grants going to those who buy vacant properties built before 1993 on 23 offshore islands.

Ireland also runs the Start-up Entrepreneur Programme (STEP), which allows entrepreneurs to live and work full-time in the country – as long as they have no criminal record, aren’t a financial burden on the state, and dedicate themselves fully to their business.

New Zealand’s Global Impact Visa

Over in New Zealand, entrepreneurs can apply for the Global Impact Visa, designed to bring in innovators and investors who want to make a worldwide difference.

To qualify, applicants must be accepted into the Edmund Hillary Fellowship and meet strict health, character, and English language requirements. The scheme encourages those ready to build ventures with a positive global impact.

Sardinia’s Sunshine Incentive

If Italy is more your vibe, Sardinia is paying young families £12,700 (€15,000) to settle in its rural villages — as long as they have fewer than 3,000 residents.

The grant must be spent on revitalising the local area and is part of efforts to fight depopulation. Applicants must also be over 18 to qualify.

Sarah said: “I believe these schemes offer tremendous opportunities for individuals to reside in other countries and secure funding for their entrepreneurial endeavours.

I find the prospect of exploring and residing in diverse nations appealing and would consider relocation if it aligns with the best interests of my family.”

Social Media Buzz

The schemes have sparked huge debate online. One commenter wrote: “Forget America, I’d opt for Italy, Ireland, or Greece.” Another said: “New Zealand is beautiful.”

A third called the idea “fascinating and worth knowing.”

With financial incentives, sunshine, and the chance to reboot your lifestyle, these relocation schemes are catching the eye of restless dreamers everywhere — but as Sarah advises, always check the small print before you book that one-way ticket.
