Awkward garage encounter goes viral after the rapper plays along with a clueless admirer.
Tinchy Stryder has left fans laughing after sharing footage of an awkward encounter with a member of the public who didn’t realise he was speaking to the rapper himself.
The 38-year-old, whose real name is Kwasi Esono Danquah III, bumped into a man named Archie at a garage.

When the pair began chatting, Archie joked that Tinchy “looks like your age” – sparking the star to play along by pretending not to know who Tinchy Stryder was.
In the video, Archie confidently told him: “Tinchy Stryder,” when asked the rapper’s name. But when pressed to recall a hit song, he admitted: “Can’t lie I don’t even know his tunes.”
Tinchy kept up the act, jokingly asking if the musician was American before finally dropping the reveal: “You know my name? Tinchy Stryder.”
The exchange left Archie grinning awkwardly as the rapper suggested he hadn’t been recognised without his trademark shades.
The clip, posted to Tinchy’s social media on Monday 18 August, quickly caught attention online, with fans amused at Archie’s slip-up and the rapper’s cheeky reaction.
Once one of the leading names in the UK grime scene, Tinchy Stryder clearly still knows how to keep people entertained – even when they don’t clock who he is.
